Proctorsville, Vermont: Quaint New England Town near Okemo Mountain

Proctorsville is set in the pastoral countryside outside of Ludlow, Vermont, and it’s surrounded by the Green Mountains. The area is popular for the skiing at Okemo Mountain in the winter, but the scenery leaves you plenty to do throughout the year.

It’s worth it to walk or hike through the picturesque fields, hills, and covered bridges in the area. Come spring, Okemo Mountain Resort's trails open up. They lead to Bridal Veil Falls (also known as Buttermilk Falls), a series of three waterfalls open for swimming and Waterworld-themed marriage ceremonies.

Towns in the Green Mountains are tiny and spread out, but the communities are tightly knit. Throughout the summer, Ludlow hosts live jazz, blues, classical, and rock concerts outdoors during the week.
